Reduction of a large cane
This is an 18 pound polymer clay face cane going through the reducing process to get to a usable size. It took several days to build during a clay artist retreat; mainly due to many distractions. Note that it was 65 degrees, causing the cane to be difficult to move. It was beaten with a rolling pin, then pulled out to about 30 feet by hand. Rolling of a cane, on a surface, is just for getting the hand prints off the sides...too much rolling will distort the image.
